After your business has had any amount of water damage to a carpeted area, you will undoubtedly need to dry the area.  If you are able to determine that the carpet can be dried without replacing it, you may be tempted to dry the area yourself.  But you may run into issues down the road if you choose to go this route.

What many people fail to understand is that the subfloor and pad may still be retaining water or moisture, even if the carpet itself feels dry to the touch.  Without expert knowledge and tools, you may not be able to determine the extent that those materials are affected.  If those materials are not dried properly, you could develop mold and foul odors in the future.  As it is under the carpet, the mold can spread basically undetected until it is a major problem.
